The gait analysis is an important part of the clinician’s assessment. By viewing you in motion we are able to see if there are any abnormal movements that could be contributing to current injuries. We are also able to advise runners on their technique and whether it could be developed into being more efficient.
You will usually be asked to walk and run whilst barefoot and wearing trainers. We will record you doing this using specialist software. Once this has been done the video can then be replayed to the patient. We can then mark on the video areas that may be causing problems during the gait cycle so that you can understand the cause of any problems you are experiencing. We will then be able to offer advice to possible changes you can make to your gait.
